Treating EGW

The choice of treatment for external genital and perianal warts is based on the number, site, and size of the warts as well as patient preference, cost, convenience, side effects, and physician experience. Warts may be frozen with liquid nitrogen and removed or treated with a variety of medications, such as Aldara™ Cream, that are applied directly on the warts either by the physician or by the patient.

You should talk to your healthcare provider about the treatment options for external genital and perianal warts. All treatments have advantages and disadvantages including side effects, the number of treatment sessions required, and the likelihood that warts will come back.
